The first version of PromptPilot took two evenings, mostly because I kept re-explaining the same context to the model in every session. The unlock was writing a persistent project brief the agent could re-read on every run instead of a fresh prompt each time.
Once that clicked, most of the remaining work was normal engineering: tests, error handling, and deciding what the tool should refuse to do automatically.
